Wine is fine but whiskey is quicker!

So yea…I really hate when cameras stand in my way to take some pictures. I like it comfy, I press the button and I got a picture, pretty simple… Since I couldn’t stand the “waiting and not shooting” state of mind, I borrowed a little something from Tom and first thing in the morning was to hit the city and see what it’s made of. I was pretty in “need”.

You can call me spoiled, but I like good cameras and this one was supposed to be a revolution back then in the old days of 2002-3, unfortunately this camera is hell of a different story. Simple stuff first, where do I turn the camera on, oh here it is, in the bottom, ( like it’s so obvious that the most convienient place to put the switch to turn on the camera is on the bottom in the back of it, pure man of genius designed this, I salute you!) ok so I click, 1 second, camera is on, what a ferrari that camera is, I almost thought it’s broken.

Let’s head on, where do I turn the aperture mode, ok two buttons at the same time!! (thanks tom for tutoring), scroll the wheel, gee, change the iso, same story, change the af mode, same story. Of course you need to stop and concentrate to do this. What a pain. I will not talk about the menu system because, well it’s a joke, it looks just like a dos system, it operates like one and it truly sucks ass. Since I don’t like to be bothered by things like that I decided to just turn the mode called “shoot and forget” and head to the city.

And I gotta say I really like the files from it, saturated, pretty much detailed like I want them to be even though the weather was almost black n white. What else, I like the shutter sound a lot, totally way much more cooler than the one made by 20-30-5ds to name a few. This one actually brings you back to 1966 Antonioni’s Blow Up and it really sounds like you got film inside. What a neat feature. Anyway, too bad the battery died so fast, one battery died after exactly 122 raw shots, the second one after another 120something. Don’t bother taking more than 4 gb of card space, you won’t be able to use it anyway. Such a shame.

I don’t usually do that but there is an awesome movie playing right now, total must see piece, just came back from it and it is one of the best movies that I’ve seen this year.
